Attracting Birds to Your Garden
Come to Wildacres Nature Reserve for an enjoyable and relaxing workshop experience and learn all about how to attract an array of fascinating and stunning birds into your garden or outdoor space for you to observe and enjoy throughout the seasons.
The workshop will include an indoor seated visual presentation in The Big Green Barn followed by an engaging guided tour of specific areas within the nature reserve including the wildlife ponds, wildflower meadow and native hedgerow. There will be plenty of opportunity for Q&A.
Topics covered will include:
- The different types of habitats you can create in your outdoor space specifically to suit birds.
- The various species of birds you can attract and expect to see.
- The selection of native and non-native plants, that are both highly attractive to birds and visually stunning to have in your garden.
- The additional measures you can take by erecting nest boxes, nest box cameras, roosting boxes, nesting cavities and much more to help birds and also provide you with endless hours of fascination.
Workshop includes a refreshment break for a Cuppa and Wildacres Honey Oat Cookies seated overlooking the ¾ acre wildlife pond.
You will also receive a gift of a young native willow tree (a tree which supports a significant amount of native Irish Wildlife).
Duration: 2.5 hours

Age: 16+ years (must be accompanied by an adult)
Weather: Please dress for the great outdoors and Irish weather.
Suitability: Wellies recommended, some rough ground.
