Whether you would like to learn practical ways to attract more wildlife to your outdoor space, or you’d prefer a Guided Nature Experience to explore the wildlife at Wildacres, we have a range of enjoyable and practical workshops and tours for you to choose from.

Perhaps you’re thinking about creating a wonderful wildlife pond in your back garden, community area, or on your land, or you’re interested in learning how honey is made sustainably ‘from flower to jar’.

All of our workshops and tours take place in the beautiful setting of Wildacres – our 17.5 acre nature reserve in Southeast Wicklow – where wildlife and its habitats are prioritised. This land, which we have gifted back to nature, is attracting an impressive biological diversity, from Red Kites to Pine Martens, from Woodpeckers to myriads of stunning butterflies and dragonflies. We have recorded over 80 different bird species, 8 of Ireland’s 9 bat species, and have all of Ireland’s 28 native tree species thriving on the land.

The nature reserve showcases how natural habitats such as hedgerow, ponds, woodland and wildflower meadow can be both created and restored. And how wildlife can return and flourish when given the chance in the right environment.

Wildacres’ Sustainable Apiary and Honey production, and our traditional Orchard are great examples of how food can be produced in harmony with nature.

Our Visitor Experience has been designed with low environmental impact as a priority – our electricity supply is generated from 100% renewable energy, our drinking water comes from our own onsite well, we have a Willow Percolation System for sink wastewater, we create features from salvaged materials where possible, and tea/coffee is served in a real mug!
